Secinaro crater from 500 AD

This is the crater we saw in the park known as the "Sirente crater" that was about 6 miles from Secinaro. Many people witnessed this meteor, which fell 1500 to 1600 years ago during the afternoon, including the Romans (about 50 miles from Rome). The force was equal to several Hiroshima bombs. If it had hit Rome instead, Rome would have been destroyed in a day. Some people believe it was responsible for the Roman conversion to Christianity as it was such an awesome sight.
